Hi! I’m Samantha, the founder of SJM Tax Prep LLC, and a licensed Massachusetts CPA. My journey began at PricewaterhouseCoopers in NYC’s State and Local Tax division and I later transitioned my focus to individual tax returns for other firms. After moving to the suburbs and getting through the pandemic, I shifted my attention to my family and decided to start my own business.

Outside of the complicated world of taxes, I spend my time with my family, teaching my 6-year-old son life lessons. In turn, he teaches me life lessons of my own (I’ve never known so much about trains before). I may be serious about taxes, but I’m silly in all other regards. I love starting crafts (finishing is another story) and watching Hallmark movies. I squeeze some jogs in between visits to the library and rooting for my favorite teams — Go Bills!!

I am also continuing my education, because I enjoy learning new things and expanding my horizons. In case you’re interested, I currently hold an MS in Taxation and a BS in Accountancy from the University at Albany, which I earned in 2012 and 2011, respectively.
